Accounts and progress are stored on this site. TOEFL Junior Prep uses member accounts so each student can keep their own scores, study plan, and mascot on any device. Your password is hashed with bcrypt, and your progress is saved on this site's server.

What we store

Account credentials: a username and a bcrypt-hashed password, managed by the site administrator.
Progress data: diagnostic results, lesson completion, practice scores, mastery estimates, daily quests, points, and buddy customizations. This is tied to your username and saved on the server so you can resume on another device.
Local cache: the same progress data is also cached in your browser's localStorage for speed and offline resilience.

What we do not do

We do not ask for real names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal information.
We do not use tracking cookies, analytics, or advertising scripts.
We do not sell or share data with third parties.

Microphone & recordings (Speaking section)

The Speaking practice uses your device's microphone only to let you record yourself for self-assessment. Any recording is created and played back locally in your browser; it is not uploaded anywhere. You can use the program without ever granting microphone access.

Optional AI grading (Writing)

If the operator enables the optional AI grading feature for Writing practice, your written response is sent to a grading service to receive scored feedback against the rubric.

What is sent: the task prompt, the rubric, and your written response. No name or account is attached.
Who processes it: the configured grading provider — a Cloudflare Workers AI model (covered by Cloudflare's DPA; not used to train models; nothing retained) or a self-hosted model the operator controls.
Your choice: AI grading is optional. You can always self-rate with the rubric instead, and nothing is sent.
For younger users: if you are under 13 (or under 16 in the EU), ask a parent or guardian before using AI grading, since your response is processed by a third party.

All questions, lessons, and tasks are original items written to match the public TOEFL Junior exam structure. This program is a study aid and is not affiliated with or endorsed by ETS. Scores and the CEFR band shown are rough practice estimates, not official results.
